Mexican blankets go through a particular curing process with age. During the first wash you can use a washing machine but make sure that you use cold water and a gentle cycle. Make sure you wash your Mexican blanket by itself as lint release during the first wash is typical. Hang dry. After drying the blankets knitting will become tighter and with subsequent use it will become more and more dense and soft.
